Week #1
Yes I am alive! So this is always good news! Okay so the past week has been absolutely insane but absolutely amazing. Back it up to Sunday January 10th.
Sunday the 10th:
My last full day in America, and Rachel Cornelison got home from her mission. I packed all day & late that night, Rach finally got home ! YAY !!! Seriously so crazy that she is home & I left
We stayed up WAYYYY too late...4 am....and I had to leave at 7:45 the next morning. It was the best catching up !
Monday the 11th:
Well I had to say goodbye. I was so nervous and sad, I felt like I was going to vomit. I had a flight to Chicago that was delayed so I kinda freaked out. Quick call to Christian, I felt better & ready for this adventure. A quick cry when I finally got on the plane to London, but I was ready.
Tuesday the 12th:
Here is my luggage when we were trying to figure out the tube. That was a sight to see. 5 girls with tons of luggage, trying to figure out the tube. Classic.
Here is 27 Palace Court. My home for the next 3 months. It is honestly incredible.
When we got here, we got kinda settled in and then we were off to explore. We had our first experience with riding on the double decker busses. Pretty comical sight again with all 41 girls trying to get on the same bus.
First stop was a quick look at Buckingham Palace !
Then to Big Ben
We then headed to St. Paul's Cathedral.
The inside of St. Pauls. We were there for a service & it was honestly beautiful. I really felt a sense of peace when we were there. I loved it.
These are the girls that I rode the tube with. They are the best & I love them already !
Wednesday the 13th:
My walk to school
Went to the British Museum !
Incredible to see pieces of work that I have studied in school many times, actually in real life !
also hot coco & a waffle with nutella. Feeling real good about that.
London Bridge
This is Allison ! She's the best !
I made it to London & it has been waaaaayyy cold recently. I am just trying to adjust, but overall its amazing !
Thursday the 14th:
This is our tube station that we get on at.
Today we went to the National Gallery. It was incredible!
View from Trafalgar square
This painting "The Arnolfini Wedding" has always been one of my faves. SO amazing to be able to see it in person.
Some guy on the street made us matching friendship bracelets & that is always a good idea!
Lunch at Tiger Tiger. Pulled pork on a baguette. So good.
Nasty pea soup for dinner...
And ending the night with face timing with my faves (:
Friday the 15th:
Walking to the National Gallery
MONET <3 Seriously I was dying
Also this is probably one of my all time favorite paintings. Loving this.
After we went shopping &have just been exploring all throughout the city.
That night me and the Allisons got on the tube and went on an adventure.
We explored China town and it was just a fun time even though we got lost and got on the wrong trains like 3 times...It was a fun night !
Saturday the 16th:
FREE DAY !
We got to sleep and wake up late.
Went back to Big Ben in the day.
Selfies cause iii its Big Ben.
Love these girls so much !
Walking around St. James' park
The London Eye.
By the London Eye there was a fun market going on & a lot of real good people watching.
Also, this skyline. I am falling in love with this city.
Especially this. This is Ben's Cookies. They are cookies made in heaven. It is in the High Street Kensington tube station. Coconut cookies there are an actual dream.
Sunday the 17th:
We went to Church in a Family ward and I ran into one of Riley's friend from BYU so that was fun. Overall this week has been one of the most exhausting week of my life. I am excited yet anxious all the time. I miss home and especially my nice warm bed. The beds here are actually the worst. But over all it is good. Change has always been hard for me, so that is expected. But I am determined to have the best time in this one of a time experience. I am now packing for our trip to the continent. We are leaving tomorrow morning at 4:30 am to fly to the Netherlands !
